Overview
The BDS Recoil Traction Bar Kit improves traction on 2007–2026 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks without limiting wheel travel. Built with heavy wall steel construction and internal compression springs, the kit controls axle wrap while maintaining a full float design for bind-free performance across a range of lift heights. The bar is fabricated from 2-inch OD x 3/16-inch wall steel tubing with a threaded bung welded toward the axle end and a CNC-machined frame end. The axle mount uses a large-forged flex end and jam nut with a forged housing featuring a 1-1/4-inch x 12 threaded shank, a single-sided snap ring, and a 1-piece flex ball capable of up to 15 degrees of misalignment in either direction. At the frame end, a durometer-specific polyurethane bushing free-floats within the traction bar via dual-stage internal compression springs and UHMW polyurethane bearings.
Features
- Adjustable axle wrap control using dual-stage resistance springs
- Full floating traction bar design will not bind throughout the full range of wheel travel and/or hinder suspension articulation
- Spring preload can be adjusted on the vehicle without disassembling the traction bar
- Traction bar ends are greaseable and rebuildable
- Mounting brackets are bolt-on, only requiring minor drilling for frame mount installation
