Rear lift is achieved with a Block Kit that installs in place of the stock block to retain ride quality and load capacity. Paired with FOX 2.0 Performance Series rear shocks featuring a 2-inch impact-extruded aluminum body, internal floating piston (IFP) monotube design, massive 5/8-inch hard chrome plated heat-treated alloy steel shaft, CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum mounting ends, and application-specific valving for maximum performance.
Overview
This BDS 4.5-inch lift kit is engineered for 2007–2013 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 4WD trucks. The kit provides clearance for up to 33-inch tires while improving stance, ground clearance, and off-road capability. It takes advantage of BDS's high-clearance design to correct suspension and steering geometry at the new ride height, preserving on-road handling characteristics.
Up front, the kit uses full-length replacement strut shocks, high-arched 1/4-inch thick steel crossmembers, a multi-piece differential relocation bracket, heavy-duty skid plates, CNC-machined ductile iron steering knuckles, sway bar drops, bump stop extensions, brake line brackets, CV spacers, and all required hardware. In the rear, customers can choose between a lift block option or full Glide-Ride leaf spring replacement, along with new U-bolts, brake line brackets, and a choice of NX2 Nitro or FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks.
Features
- High-clearance crossmember design maximizes ground clearance using heavy-duty 1/4-inch thick laser-cut steel
- Front skid plate system bolts together to create a rigid subframe with added off-road protection
- CNC-machined ductile cast iron steering knuckles correct steering geometry at the lifted ride height and maintain ESC system compliance
- Multi-piece differential relocation brackets secure the front axle and improve CV angles
- Rear lift available as a block kit (retains ride quality and load capacity) or full Glide-Ride leaf spring replacement
- Rear shock options include FOX 2.0 Performance Series IFP gas shocks or NX2 Nitro Series shocks
- Factory Protection Plus drivetrain warranty included
- Sway bar drops, bump stop extensions, brake line brackets, CV spacers, and all required hardware included
Installation
- Estimated Time: 8 hours
- Difficulty: Difficult
- Required Tools: Cut-off wheel or equivalent, reciprocating saw, welding equipment
Important Notes
- This system will not fit 2007 Classic models
- Installation of rear leaf springs requires removal of the fuel tank
- Requires frame bracket modification
- 20-inch wheels with 5-inch to 5-3/4-inch backspacing recommended to reduce trimming
- Traction bars will not fit regular cab short box models
- Add part #121651 Auxiliary Differential Support Bracket for AWD models; may also require front driveline modification
- Will not fit two-mode hybrid models with electronic power steering
- Stock 20-inch wheels can be re-installed only with factory tire size
- Factory 17-inch and 18-inch wheels cannot be re-installed
