Overview

The BDS Recoil Traction Bar Kit improves traction on 2004–2020 Ford F150 4WD trucks without limiting wheel travel. Built with heavy wall steel construction and internal compression springs, the kit controls axle wrap and can be loaded or unloaded while installed on the vehicle. The full float design delivers bind-free performance across a range of lift heights. Bars are fabricated from 2-inch OD x 3/16-inch wall steel tubing with a threaded bung welded toward the axle end and a CNC-machined frame end. The axle mount uses BDS's large-forged flex end and jam nut, featuring a forged housing with a large 1-1/4-inch x 12 threaded shank, a single-sided snap ring, and a 1-piece flex ball capable of up to 15 degrees of misalignment in either direction. At the frame end, a durometer-specific polyurethane bushing free-floats within the traction bar via dual-stage internal compression springs and UHMW polyurethane bearings.
