Overview
The BDS Recoil Traction Bar Kit is designed to improve traction on 2021–2026 Ford F150 4WD trucks without limiting wheel travel. Built with heavy wall steel construction and internal compression springs, the kit controls axle wrap while maintaining a full float design for bind-free performance across the full range of suspension articulation. Compatible with a range of lift heights, the springs can be loaded or unloaded while the bar remains installed on the vehicle.
The bar is fabricated from 2-inch OD x 3/16-inch wall steel tubing with a threaded bung welded toward the axle end and a CNC-machined frame end. The axle mount utilizes BDS's large-forged flex end and jam nut, featuring a forged housing with a large 1-1/4-inch x 12 threaded shank, a single-sided snap ring, and a 1-piece flex ball capable of up to 15 degrees of misalignment in either direction. At the frame end, a durometer-specific polyurethane bushing free-floats within the traction bar via dual-stage internal compression springs and UHMW polyurethane bearings.
