Overview

The BDS Recoil Traction Bar Kit improves traction on 2011-2019 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD SRW/DRW models without limiting wheel travel. Built with heavy wall steel construction and internal compression springs, the kit controls axle wrap while maintaining a full float design for bind-free performance across a range of lift heights. The bar is fabricated from 2-inch OD x 3/16-inch wall steel tubing with a threaded bung welded toward the axle end and a CNC-machined frame end. The axle mount uses a large forged flex end and jam nut featuring a forged housing with a 1-1/4-inch x 12 threaded shank, a single-sided snap ring, and a 1-piece flex ball capable of up to 15 degrees of misalignment in either direction. At the frame end, a durometer-specific polyurethane bushing free-floats within the traction bar via dual-stage internal compression springs and UHMW polyurethane bearings.
