Overview

The BDS Recoil Traction Bar Kit is designed to improve traction on 2020–2026 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD trucks without limiting wheel travel. Built with heavy wall steel construction and internal dual-stage compression springs, the kit controls axle wrap while maintaining a full-float, bind-free design compatible with a range of lift heights. Springs can be loaded or unloaded while the bar remains installed on the vehicle.

The traction bar is fabricated from 2-inch OD x 3/16-inch wall steel tubing with a threaded bung welded toward the axle end and a CNC-machined frame end. The axle mount features BDS's large-forged flex end and jam nut, using a forged housing with a large 1-1/4-inch x 12 threaded shank, a single-sided snap ring, and a 1-piece flex ball capable of up to 15 degrees of misalignment in either direction. The frame end uses a durometer-specific polyurethane bushing and free-floats within the traction bar via dual-stage internal compression springs and UHMW polyurethane bearings.

Important Notes

• Will fit SRW (Single Rear Wheel) models only
• Will ONLY fit crew cab short bed (6.5 ft) — will NOT fit standard cab, extended cab, or models with 8 ft beds
• Fits 0–6 inches of rear lift
• Fits 4-inch rear axle models only
• When combining these traction bars with a 6.5-inch suspension lift kit and your truck does NOT have a top-mounted overload (BDS753 kit variants), 15.5-inch long U-bolts are provided. Longer U-bolts will be needed to install the traction bars. Please purchase UBT4200 (x4) to mount the traction bars to your vehicle.
