BDS 8 Inch Lift Kit | 1977-1987 Chevy/GMC 3/4 Ton Truck & Suburban 4WD | w/ NX2 Nitro Series Shocks

Configured with NX2 Nitro Series shocks front and rear. NX2 shocks feature a nitrogen-charged twin-tube design, 10-stage velocity-sensitive valving, dual-welded ends for increased strength, a 1-3/8-inch high-flow piston, self-lubricating seals, and a silver powder coat finish — tuned specifically for this vehicle application.

Overview

This 8-inch lift kit from BDS Suspension is designed for 1977–1987 Chevy and GMC 3/4 ton trucks and SUVs (K20/K25), improving stance, performance, and off-road capability while providing clearance for up to 38-inch tires. Up front, the kit includes Glide-Ride leaf springs, a 4-inch steering arm and 3-inch steering block for steering correction, brake line brackets, and sway bar drop brackets. Out back, the kit utilizes Glide-Ride leaf springs, new u-bolts, and matching shocks. Front and rear shocks are available in NX2 Nitro Series or FOX 2.0 Performance Series configurations.

BDS Glide-Ride leaf springs use an exclusive triple-stage, multi-leaf progressive spring rate design that delivers a smooth ride under any load while providing flexibility throughout the suspension cycle.

Important Notes

• Both driveshafts may need to be lengthened.
• Aftermarket extended brake lines are required for installation.
• Exhaust modification may be required to clear the front driveshaft.
• Emergency brake cable extension kit may be required.
• #001608 comes with OE-style rubber bushings installed.
• The 3/4 ton commonly came with a factory 56-inch eye-to-eye rear leaf spring. However, some were produced with a 52-inch rear spring. This kit will not work with 52-inch rear springs. If ordering rear leaf springs, be sure to measure your factory rear spring before ordering.
• If equipped with a factory front sway bar, order the front sway bar shackle link kit listed in the accessories section.
• Some vehicles came with factory front dual shocks. If you wish to replace the factory duals, you must order the additional two auxiliary shocks in the options.
