This configuration is intended for vehicles without a factory overload spring in the rear suspension. Rear lift is achieved via replacement lift blocks and u-bolts sized to suit standard rear spring packs.

Overview

This 5-inch lift kit from BDS Suspension is designed for 2020–2026 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD 4WD trucks. BDS engineered a No Torsion Bar Drop System that mounts the torsion bars directly to the top of the lower a-arm, eliminating the need to drop the torsion bar cross-member and maximizing ground clearance. The kit improves stance, performance, and capability, and provides clearance for tires up to 37 inches.

Up front, the kit uses torsion bar relocation brackets, high-arched 1/4-inch thick steel crossmembers, multipiece differential relocation brackets, heavy-duty skid plates, and CNC-machined ductile iron steering knuckles that correct steering geometry at the new ride height. Sway bar drops, stainless steel brake lines, and all required hardware are also included. In the rear, replacement lift blocks and u-bolts lift and level the stance while retaining ride quality and load capacity. Brake line and ABS line relocation brackets allow retention of the factory brake lines. FOX 2.5 HTO Performance Series shocks are included front and rear.

FOX 2.5 Performance Series HTO Shocks

The included FOX 2.5 Performance Series HTO shocks are bolt-on units featuring position-sensitive technology and vehicle-specific valving. Key features include:

  • 2.5-inch type II anodized aluminum shock body for heat dissipation and corrosion resistance
  • Internal floating piston (IFP) separates shock oil from high-pressure nitrogen for optimized damping
  • Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) technology provides position-sensitive rebound damping control on and off pavement
  • HTO reduces harsh top-outs and increases comfort, particularly beneficial with heavier tires or lifts beyond OEM specification
  • Larger pistons increase damping capacity

Important Notes

  • Requires frame bracket modification.
  • A Torsion Bar Tool is required to load/unload torsion bars. The GM-specified tool is #CH48809.
  • Models with two-piece rear driveshafts will require a carrier bearing drop kit.
  • Factory 17–18-inch wheels cannot be reinstalled due to tie rod end interference. Stock 20-inch wheels can be reinstalled with up to a 35x12.50 tire.
  • Vehicles used in 4WD on the highway regularly could potentially experience a minor front driveline vibration. If this occurs, replacing the front driveshaft with a dual Cardan style driveshaft is recommended.
  • Some minor trimming may be required with certain wheel/tire combinations. This is normal with most aftermarket tire/wheel fitment on Chevy/GM trucks. Trimming will typically include the bottom edge of the inner fender shrouds and/or lower corner of the front bumper valance. Deeper backspacing and shorter/narrower tires will reduce or eliminate trimming required. Further trimming tips are included in the instruction sheet.
  • Will NOT work with AT4X or ZR2 models — lower control arm profile is different.
