This configuration includes a 5 Inch Block Kit Without Overload — select this option if your truck was not manufactured with top-mounted overload springs on the rear leaf springs. Rear shocks are FOX 2.0 Performance Series, featuring a 2-inch impact extruded aluminum body, internal floating piston (IFP) monotube design, CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum mounting ends, a massive 5/8-inch hard chrome plated heat-treated alloy steel shaft, race-developed high-flow piston design, application-specific valving, and a long-lasting clear anodized finish.
Overview
This 6.5-inch lift kit from BDS Suspension is designed for 2020–2026 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD 4WD trucks. BDS engineered a No-Torsion Bar Drop System that mounts torsion bars directly to the top of the lower a-arm, eliminating the need to drop the torsion bar cross-member for maximum ground clearance. The kit corrects suspension and steering geometry at the new ride height for improved on-road handling while enhancing off-road capability, and provides clearance for up to 38-inch tires.
Up front, the kit includes torsion bar relocation brackets, high-arched 1/4-inch thick steel crossmembers, a multipiece differential relocation bracket, heavy-duty skid plates, CNC-machined ductile iron steering knuckles, sway bar drops, stainless steel brake lines, and all necessary hardware. In the rear, replacement lift blocks and U-bolts level the stance while retaining ride quality and load capacity. Brake line and ABS line relocation brackets allow use of the factory brake lines.
Features
- High clearance design with no torsion bar drop maximizes ground clearance
- Robust CNC-machined ductile cast iron steering knuckles maintain ESC system compliance and factory tie rod end compatibility
- Heavy-duty 1/4-inch thick, laser-cut high-arched steel crossmembers
- HD skid plate system bolts together to create a rigid subframe for improved off-road protection
- Multipoint differential relocation brackets secure the front axle and improve CV angles
- Rear lift blocks install in place of stock block, retaining ride quality and load capacity
- Brake line and ABS line relocation brackets for use with factory brake lines
- Stainless steel brake lines included
- Choice of NX2 Nitro Series or FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks
- Factory Protection Plus drivetrain warranty included
- Clearance for up to 38-inch tires
Specifications

- Crossmember thickness: 1/4-inch thick laser-cut steel
- Steering knuckles: CNC-machined ductile cast iron
- Brake lines: Stainless steel
- Rear lift: 5-inch block kit (with or without overload, depending on configuration)
- Compatible tire size: Up to 38 inches
Installation
- Estimated Time: 8 hours
- Difficulty: Difficult
- Tools Required: 36mm Socket, Cut Off Wheel or Equivalent, Reciprocating Saw, Torsion Bar Unloading Tool (GM specified tool #CH48809)
Important Notes
- For DRW models, use the variant with overload rear lift option.
- Requires frame bracket modification.
- Torsion Bar Tool required to load/unload torsion bars; the GM specified tool is #CH48809.
- Models with two-piece rear driveshafts will require a carrier bearing drop kit.
- Factory 17–18-inch wheels cannot be reinstalled due to tie rod end interference. Stock 20-inch wheels can be reinstalled with up to a 35x12.50 tire.
- In some cases, vehicles used in 4WD on the highway regularly could potentially experience a minor front driveline vibration. If this occurs, replacing the front driveshaft with a dual Cardan style driveshaft is recommended.
- Do not install this suspension system in conjunction with any type of torsion bar lift keys to achieve more than the tested 6.5-inch lift height.
- Some minor trim may be required with certain wheel/tire combinations. This is normal with most aftermarket tire/wheel fitment on Chevy/GM trucks. Trimming will normally include the bottom edge of the inner fender shrouds and/or lower corner of the front bumper valance. Deeper backspacing and shorter/narrower tires will reduce or eliminate trimming required.
- Will NOT work with AT4X or ZR2 models — lower control arm profile is different.
- When combining Recoil traction bars (BDS2300) with a 6.5-inch suspension lift kit and the truck does NOT have a top-mounted overload (BDS753 kit variants), 15.5-inch long U-bolts are provided. Longer U-bolts will be needed to install the traction bars. Purchase UBT4200 (x4) to mount the traction bars to your vehicle.
