Rear lift uses a cast iron block kit sized for 3-1/2-inch axle tubes. Blocks are tapered for correct pinion angle, with an offset steel pin and hole to restore axle position. Multi-leaf progressive design maintains factory payload ratings and reduces axle wrap. Paired with NX2 Nitro Series shocks featuring nitrogen-charged twin-tube design, 10-stage velocity-sensitive valving, 1-3/8-inch high-flow piston, dual-welded ends, and silver powder coat finish. Configured for automatic transmission.
Overview
BDS Suspension engineered this 8-inch lift kit with long arm conversion for 2003–2007 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 diesel-powered trucks. Designed to improve stance, performance, and capability, this kit provides clearance for up to 38-inch tires. The long lower control arms reduce caster change through wheel travel, creating a more controlled steering feel, while the long arm system retains the factory triangulation of the arms for added suspension stability.
Up front, the kit includes diesel-specific Pro-Ride coil springs, all four control arms plus mounting brackets, a forged drop pitman arm, a track bar bracket for steering correction, bump stops, sway bar links, and precision-tuned shocks. In the rear, the kit uses heavy duty cast steel blocks or leaf springs (depending on configuration), longer u-bolts, and a matching set of shocks.
Pro-Ride Coil Springs
A pair of full-length, diesel-specific, progressive rate Pro-Ride coil springs are included to provide the correct lift height and smooth, predictable ride across various terrains. Manufactured from high tensile steel with properly sized wire diameter, these direct OE replacement coil springs are engineered for maximum reliability without premature coil bind.
Steering Correction
A forged drop pitman arm minimizes steering angle once lifted, and pairs with a heavy duty track bar drop bracket to keep the steering geometry in phase through suspension travel while recentering the front axle.

Installation
- Estimated Time: 8 hours
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Tools Required: Cut Off Wheel or equivalent, Grinder/Sanding Disc, Pitman Arm Puller, Welding Equipment
Important Notes
- Measure rear axle tube before ordering. Some 4-inch axle models with dual overloads will require UBT4068.
- Rear lift options will not fit dually applications.
- If driveline vibration occurs, order either transfer case drop. NOTE: 122606 transfer case drop kit will only replace the OE bracket #52121938AA.
- Additional front driveline modification may be required.
- Exhaust modification will be required for dual rear shock kit 122009.
- 2500 Gas models will require modification to the front exhaust crossover pipe on the driver side for proper clearance when a transfer case indexing ring kit is installed.
- If your truck has had the steering gear box changed and the sector shaft diameter measures approximately 1-1/2" to 1-5/8", you will need to add part #BDS082404 to your kit.
