This 3-inch lift kit from BDS Suspension is designed to improve the stance, performance, and capability of the 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ. The kit includes everything necessary to set up the Cherokee properly, providing clearance for up to 31-inch tires. Up front, the kit features Glide-Ride coil springs, extended sway bar links, and a transfer case drop to maintain proper driveline angles. In the rear, the kit utilizes either a long thin add-a-leaf or replacement leaf springs to add height, along with a 5/8-inch lift block to level the Jeep. A pair of full-length, Jeep-specific Pro-Ride coil springs are included up front, manufactured from high tensile steel and engineered with properly sized wire diameter for maximum reliability without premature coil bind. Each kit is completed with your choice of NX2 Nitro Series or FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks.
Verify the make/model of rear axle prior to ordering. Some 1987–90 models came with a Dana 44. Measure and call BDS for proper u-bolt fitment. Transfer case lowering kit is not required for 2WD models.
The Jeep Cherokee was produced with two different rear axles (Chrysler 8.25 or Dana 35). Measure the diameter of the axle or the I.D. of your rear u-bolts to confirm fitment: Chrysler axles require 3-inch wide u-bolts; Dana 35 axles require 2-3/4-inch wide u-bolts. Some 1987–90 models came with a Dana 44 — measure and call BDS for proper u-bolt fitment.
