BDS 4 Inch Lift Kit | Jeep Cherokee SJ / Wagoneer / Grand Wagoneer / J10/J20 (1974-1989) | Block Kit Rear

This variant includes a cast iron rear lift block kit for the rear lift. Blocks are tapered for correct pinion angle, with an offset steel pin and hole to restore axle position. Reduces axle wrap and creates a more controlled and stable feel.

Overview

This 4-inch lift kit from BDS Suspension is designed for the Jeep Cherokee SJ Full Size, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and J10/J20 (1974–1989). The kit is engineered to improve stance, performance, and off-road capability, providing clearance for tires up to 33 inches. Up front, the kit includes Glide-Ride leaf springs, brake line brackets, and precision-tuned NX2 nitrogen charged shocks. The rear configuration is available with either a high-strength lift block with longer u-bolts or rear leaf springs, both paired with matching NX2 Nitro shocks.

BDS engineered the Glide-Ride leaf springs with an exclusive triple-stage, multi-leaf progressive spring rate design that provides a smooth ride under any load and flexibility throughout the suspension cycle.

Important Notes

• 083402 Pitman arm will increase turning radius (cannot turn as sharp).
• Not recommended for Wagoneers or Cherokees with front and/or rear track rods.
• 1974–1975 models must have 131" wheelbase and 7200# GVWR or more for #004408 rear springs to fit.
• Some 1974 J20s with stock 401 come with a rear 15/16" spring eye stud.
• #004402 and #004408 come with OE rubber bushings installed.
• Rear shock mount may need to be relocated.
• If equipped with Dana 44 rear axle, will require a 9/16" x 3-1/4" x 7-1/2" rear u-bolt (not supplied by BDS).
