Description

Configured with a 4 Inch Cast Iron Block Kit for the rear lift, sized for a 3-1/2 inch rear axle, and paired with NX2 Nitro Series shocks. Rear blocks are cast iron, tapered for correct pinion angle, with an offset steel pin and hole to restore axle position. NX2 Nitro shocks feature a nitrogen-charged twin-tube design, 10-stage velocity-sensitive valving, dual-welded ends, a 1-3/8-inch high-flow piston, self-lubricating seals, and a silver powder coat finish.

Overview

This 6-inch lift kit from BDS Suspension is designed for the 2008 Dodge RAM 2500 and 3500 4WD diesel-powered truck, improving stance, performance, and capability with clearance for up to 36-inch tires. BDS engineered new lower control arms that are longer than stock to rotate the axle for proper alignment, along with a relocation mounting bracket that flattens the angle of the upper control arm to maintain factory handling characteristics.

Up front, the kit includes diesel-specific Pro-Ride coil springs, all four control arms plus relocation bracket, a forged drop pitman arm and track bar bracket for steering correction, bump stops, sway bar links, and precision-tuned shocks. In the rear, the kit is available with heavy duty cast steel blocks with longer u-bolts, or BDS leaf springs — each paired with your choice of NX2 Nitro or FOX 2.0 Performance shocks.

Pro-Ride Coil Springs: A pair of full-length, diesel-specific, progressive rate Pro-Ride coil springs are supplied to provide the correct lift height and smooth, predictable ride across various terrains. Manufactured from high tensile steel, these direct OE replacement coil springs are engineered with properly sized wire diameter for maximum reliability without premature coil bind.

Steering Correction: A forged drop pitman arm minimizes the steering angle, paired with a heavy duty track bar drop bracket to keep steering geometry in phase through suspension travel while recentering the front axle.

Features

  • Tubular short arms improve strength, handling, and caster control
  • Heavy duty control arm brackets maintain proper suspension geometry
  • Front high-strength progressive rate coil springs for a smooth ride on any terrain
  • Front track bar relocation bracket to re-position axle
  • Forged drop pitman arm to correct steering angles
  • Front sway bar correction to maintain handling performance
  • Available with BDS NX2 Nitro gas shocks or FOX 2.0 Performance Series IFP gas shocks

Specifications

  • Front lift: 6 inches
  • Rear lift: 4 inches (block kit) or 5 inches (leaf spring option)
  • Tire clearance: up to 36 inches
  • Pro-Ride coil springs: diesel-specific, progressive rate, high tensile steel construction
  • Rear block kit: cast iron construction, tapered for correct pinion angle, offset steel pin and hole to restore axle position
  • Rear leaf springs: multi-leaf progressive design, includes u-bolts, maintains factory payload weight ratings
  • NX2 Nitro Series shocks: nitrogen-charged twin-tube design, 10-stage velocity-sensitive valving, dual-welded ends, 1-3/8-inch high-flow piston, self-lubricating seals, silver powder coat finish
  • FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks: 2-inch impact extruded aluminum body, internal floating piston (IFP) monotube design, CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum mounting ends, 5/8-inch hard chrome plated heat-treated alloy steel shaft, race-developed high-flow piston, application-specific valving, clear anodized finish

Installation

  • Estimated Time: 8 hours
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Tools Required: Cut Off Wheel or Equivalent, Grinder/Sanding Disc, Pitman Arm Puller, Welding Equipment

Important Notes

  • Measure rear axle tube before ordering. Some 4-inch axle models with dual overloads will require u-bolt 4068.
  • Although unusual, if driveline vibration occurs, order the appropriate transfer case drop kit: 122602 (03–05 Diesel Auto), 122605 (06–08 Diesel Auto), or 122606 (03–13 Diesel Auto with OE mount P/N 52121938AA) available in options or t-case index kit #122801 (auto) or #122802 (manual transmission). Optional transfer case drop kits fit automatic transmission models only.
  • Exhaust modification will be required for dual rear shock kit 122009 on 6.7L Diesel models.
  • If your truck has had the steering gear box changed and the sector shaft diameter measures approximately 1-1/2"–1-5/8", you will need to add part # BDS082404 to your kit.
