This configuration includes a 4 Inch Block Kit for the rear lift, fitted for a 4 inch rear axle. Cast iron tapered blocks with an offset steel pin restore proper axle position and pinion angle. Shocks are NX2 Nitro Series: nitrogen-charged twin-tube design, 10-stage velocity-sensitive valving, dual-welded ends, 1-3/8-inch high-flow piston, self-lubricating seals, and silver powder coat finish.
Overview
This 6-inch lift kit from BDS Suspension is designed for 2003–2007 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 4WD diesel-powered trucks. The kit is engineered to improve stance, on-road performance, and off-road capability while providing clearance for up to 36-inch tires. BDS engineered new lower control arms that are longer than stock to rotate the axle for proper alignment, and a relocation mounting bracket flattens out the upper control arm angle to maintain factory handling characteristics.
Up front, the kit includes diesel-specific Pro-Ride coil springs, all four control arms plus relocation bracket, a forged drop pitman arm, a track bar bracket for steering correction, bump stops, sway bar links, and precision-tuned shocks. In the rear, the kit utilizes heavy duty cast steel blocks (or optional BDS leaf springs), longer u-bolts, and a matching set of shocks.
Pro-Ride Coil Springs
A pair of full-length, diesel-specific, progressive rate Pro-Ride coil springs are included to provide the correct lift height and a smooth, predictable ride across various terrains. Manufactured from high tensile steel and engineered with properly sized wire diameter for maximum reliability without premature coil bind.
Steering Correction
A forged drop pitman arm minimizes the steering angle after lifting. A heavy duty track bar drop bracket keeps steering geometry in phase through suspension travel while recentering the front axle.
Features
- Tubular short arms improve strength, handling, and caster control
- Heavy duty control arm brackets maintain proper suspension geometry
- Front high strength progressive rate coil springs for improved ride on any terrain
- Front track bar relocation bracket to re-position axle
- Forged drop pitman arm to correct steering angles
- Front sway bar correction to maintain handling performance
- Available with NX2 Nitro gas shocks or FOX 2.0 Performance Series IFP gas shocks
- Up to 36-inch tire clearance
Specifications
- Lift Height: 6 inches (front); 4 inches rear (block kit) or 5 inches rear (leaf spring option)
- Vehicle Fitment: 2003–2007 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 4WD Diesel
- Front: Diesel-specific Pro-Ride coil springs (high tensile steel, progressive rate)
- Front: All four control arms plus relocation bracket
- Front: Forged drop pitman arm and track bar bracket
- Front: Bump stops, sway bar links
- Rear (Block Kit): Heavy duty cast iron tapered blocks, longer u-bolts; offset steel pin restores axle position and pinion angle
- Rear (Leaf Springs): Multi-leaf progressive rate design; includes u-bolts; maintains factory payload weight ratings; reduces axle wrap
Installation
- Estimated Time: 6–8 hours
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Tools Required: Grinder/Sanding Disc, Cut-off Tool, Pitman Arm Puller, Welding Equipment
Important Notes
- Measure rear axle tube before ordering. Some 4-inch axle models with dual overloads will require u-bolt 4068.
- Although unusual, if driveline vibration occurs, order the appropriate transfer case drop kit: 122602 (03–05 Diesel Auto), 122605 (06–08 Diesel Auto), or 122606 (03–13 Diesel Auto with OE mount P/N 52121938AA) available in options or t-case index kit #122801 (auto) or #122802 (manual transmission). Optional transfer case drop kits fit automatic transmission models only.
- Exhaust modification will be required for dual rear shock kit 122009 on 6.7L Diesel models.
- If your truck has had the steering gear box changed and the sector shaft diameter measures approximately 1-1/2"–1-5/8", you will need to add part # BDS082404 to your kit.
