Overview

The BDS Recoil Traction Bar Kit is designed for 2017–2026 Ford F250, F350, and F450 Super Duty 4WD trucks equipped with a 4.5-inch diameter axle tube. This kit improves traction by controlling axle wrap without limiting wheel travel. The full-float design allows bind-free performance across a range of lift heights (0–6 inches of rear lift). Internal dual-stage compression springs can be loaded or unloaded while the bar remains installed on the vehicle. The bar is fabricated from 2-inch OD x 3/16-inch wall steel tubing with a threaded bung welded toward the axle end and a CNC-machined frame end. The axle mount uses a large-forged flex end with a forged housing, a 1-1/4-inch x 12 threaded shank, a single-sided snap ring, and a 1-piece flex ball capable of up to 15 degrees of misalignment in either direction. The frame end uses a durometer-specific polyurethane bushing that free-floats in the traction bar via a pair of dual-stage internal compression springs and UHMW polyurethane bearings.
