Configured for trucks where the carrier bearing is mounted below the crossmember (kit 121612), paired with FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks featuring a 2-inch impact extruded aluminum body, internal floating piston (IFP) monotube design, CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum mounting ends, a massive 5/8-inch hard chrome plated heat-treated alloy steel shaft, race-developed high-flow piston, application-specific valving, and a long-lasting clear anodized finish.
The BDS 6-inch lift kit for the 2001–2010 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD 2WD is engineered to improve stance, performance, and off-road capability. BDS designed a No Torsion Bar Drop System that mounts the torsion bars directly to the top of the lower a-arm, eliminating the need to drop the torsion bar cross-member and maximizing ground clearance. The kit provides clearance for up to 35-inch tires and includes everything needed for a comprehensive front and rear suspension lift.
Up front, the kit utilizes torsion bar relocation brackets, high-arched 1/4-inch thick steel crossmembers, heavy duty skid plates, and CNC-machined ductile iron steering knuckles to correct steering geometry at the new ride height. Sway bar drops, bump stop extensions, brake line brackets, and all required hardware are also included. In the rear, BDS offers both replacement lift block and full Glide-Ride leaf spring options, along with new u-bolts, brake line brackets, and a choice of NX2 Nitro or FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks.
A special tool is required to unload and load the torsion bars. The 2WD HD was produced with two different styles of carrier bearing crossmembers. If the carrier bearing is mounted above the crossmember, use kit 121611. If the carrier bearing is mounted below the crossmember, use kit 121612. Select the appropriate variant above to match your vehicle's configuration.
