Rear lift provided by a 4 Inch Cast Steel Block Kit with Add-A-Leaf. The add-a-leaf helps freshen up old worn factory leaf springs, provides an additional 1 inch of lift, includes new center pins, eliminates the need for a lift block, reduces axle wrap, and creates a more controlled and stable feel. Configured with FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks featuring a 2-inch impact extruded aluminum body, internal floating piston (IFP) monotube design, CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum mounting ends, massive 5/8-inch hard chrome plated heat-treated alloy steel shaft, race-developed high-flow piston design, application-specific valving, and a long-lasting clear anodized finish.

Overview

BDS Suspension has designed this 4-inch lift kit for the 1988–1991 Chevy K5 Blazer and GMC K5 Jimmy (4WD). The kit includes everything necessary to improve stance, performance, and capability, with clearance for up to 35-inch tires. Up front, the kit includes Glide-Ride leaf springs, a 4-inch steering arm for steering correction, brake line brackets, and precision-tuned NX2 nitrogen-charged shocks. The rear utilizes a high-strength lift block, longer U-bolts, and a matching set of NX2 Nitro shocks (or an optional upgrade to FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks).

BDS Glide-Ride leaf springs feature an exclusive triple-stage, multi-leaf progressive spring rate design that delivers a smooth ride under any load while maintaining factory payload weight ratings.

Important Notes

• The 1/2-ton commonly came with a factory 52-inch eye-to-eye rear leaf spring. However, some were produced with a 56-inch rear spring. If ordering rear leaf springs, measure your factory rear spring before ordering.
• If equipped with a factory front sway bar, order the front sway bar shackle link kit listed in the accessories section.
• Some vehicles came with factory front dual shocks. If you wish to replace the factory duals, you must order the additional two auxiliary shocks in the options.
• #001408 comes with OE style rubber bushings installed.
• Exhaust modification may be required to clear the front driveshaft.
